About Anne Huebner, Ph.D.

Dr. Huebner focuses on gaining a comprehensive understanding of an individual’s situation so that science-based strategies or assessments can be used in connection with personal or organizational goals.

Anne Huebner, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist who graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Huebner completed her predoctoral and postdoctoral internships at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI, where she gained experience in treating posttraumatic disorders, psychological disorders related to transplantation, breast cancer, seizures, diabetes, obesity, and various chronic and acute diseases. She gained additional practical experience treating couples, families, children, and individuals with addictions.

Currently working in private, medical, and legal settings, Dr. Huebner specializes in evaluating and treating adolescents and adults with numerous mood and anxiety disorders, and symptoms related to pain, trauma, illness, or injury. She also provides evaluations and testimony in forensic arenas.

Dr. Huebner has taught a variety of upper level psychology classes at a private college in Milwaukee, WI, for over nine years. She has conducted numerous seminars on mental health issues, stress management, and relationship building. She has participated in research regarding effective treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), smoking cessation, and mental health symptoms connected to illnesses. She also belongs to several organizations promoting effective treatments in her specialty areas.

Clinical Therapy
Dr. Huebner utilizes science-based therapy techniques for treating psychological disorders. She specializes in cognitive-behavioral techniques since research has indicated moderate effectiveness rates when used for anxiety and eating disorders, behavioral health management of pain and other medical illnesses, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and smoking cessation. Other adjunctive therapies such as couple or family therapy, existential or acceptance-based therapies, or techniques such as stages-of-change approach, and relaxation are used to facilitate improvements as well. Dr. Huebner also prefers to collaborate with clients’ medical, legal, or other professions to promote comprehensive treatment.

Dr. Huebner provides evaluations for psychological, medical, and legal purposes. These evaluations and assessments include: Fitness for Duty, Personal Injury, Independent Medical (psychological) Exams, and other disability-related situations. She also provides presurgical evaluations for extreme medical procedures such as bariatric surgery, intrathecal pump placement, or internal stimulator placement.

Forensic Psychology
Academic and professional experiences related to psychological and medical disorders have contributed to Dr. Huebner’s interest in forensic work and behavioral health. Together, these specialties contribute to a forensic knowledge that focuses on the necessity of obtaining thorough information via assessment and interview to ensure accurate understanding of an individual and his/her situation. That forensic knowledge also requires current, evidence-based knowledge about disorders to identify recommendations or effective treatments. Her unique experiences combine to create an emphasis on excellence in the legal arena.
