Anne Huebner, PhD

Using research-based therapy and assessments, Dr. Huebner works with you to gain a comprehensive view of your personal or legal situation to help you best meet your goals.

Dr. Anne Huebner specializes in evaluating and treating adolescents and adults with mood and anxiety disorders, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and mental health symptoms related to pain, trauma, illness, injury, or adjustment difficulties. She also provides evaluations and testimony in forensic arenas. Dr. Huebner has decades of experience in private, medical, and legal settings.

 

A licensed psychologist, Dr. Huebner graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. She completed her predoctoral and postdoctoral internships at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where she gained experience in treating PTSD, mental health disorders related to transplants, breast cancer, neurological disorders, and other chronic and acute diseases and injuries. Dr. Huebner assisted in organizing and providing therapy at the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Smoking Cessation Clinic. She provided disability evaluations and therapy for children, adults, couples, and families with a range of mental health disorders. Dr. Huebner has also provided therapy and assessment at an area pain clinic for five years.

 

In the academic world, Dr. Huebner gained experience teaching a variety of psychology classes at a private college in Milwaukee for close to 10 years. She has conducted seminars on mental health issues, stress management, and relationship building. Dr. Huebner has participated in research about effective treatment for PTSD, smoking cessation, and mental health symptoms related to illnesses. She is also a member of a number of organizations promoting effective therapy in her specialty areas.

 

 

Clinical Therapy

Dr. Huebner uses science-based therapy strategies to help individuals and couples reach their goals. She specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy, which offers effective techniques for anxiety, depression, PTSD, AD/HD, pain and stress management, and smoking cessation. To help you achieve personal goals, Dr. Huebner often adds other therapy strategies, such as couple's or family therapy, existential or acceptance-based therapy (ACT), stages-of-change approach, mindfulness, and relaxation. She also collaborates with your medical, legal, or other providers to develop a comprehensive treatment plan.
